Forum: opensource_movies Subject: Want to see recently added open-source movies?

Just a quick tip, since I was trying to see which open-source movies had been added recently, and there's not a single click through to the page for that (or the RSS) that I could find:

http://www.archive.org/movies/movies-searchresults.php?search=&start=0&limit=100&sort=addeddate%20DESC&submit=yes&collection=opensource_movies

...gets you recently-added open-source movies, in order of addition.

And:

http://www.archive.org/services/collection-rss.php?mediatype=movies&collection=opensource_movies

..gets you the RSS feed for the same. You can mess around with the URLs to get the same thing for any movies collection by changing the collection= part, and even for audio and texts collections by changing some more stuff around.

Any chance that RSS2.0's "enclosure" attribute will be supported? That adds the link to the actual movie file in the aggregator. See

In the Feature Films section, there's a 'Browse For most recent movies" feature. That's a great feature, and that should be added.
Also, you need to start breaking the open movie list into pages, rather then just one large page, it's getting to be a longer and longer wait to download.

I added the extra options to the Feature Films page myself, because admins are able to edit that page - unfortunately, the OpenSource Movies page is hardcoded, so I can't edit it.. but hopefully this'll get added to a to do list somewhere, it does help, I agree.

There's now a 'Browse most recent additions' option for this collection, as requested.

Old, Old thread, but is limit= still a valid option? When I try to use it the rss returns 50 entries regardless.
